Veloswift's Phoenixdex Entry

Veloswift are tireless flyers that spend almost their entire lives in the skies, only stopping in their cave nests to tend to their young. Their neverending flight was once interpreted as a constant search for wisdom. They chase insects through the air with incredible speed and deftness—there is almost nothing that can outpace a Veloswift flying at top speed—and slow down particularly tricky prey with shots of gooey saliva.

The ability "Sidestep" makes its bearer immune to the effects of entry hazards—so, for example, it takes no damage from Stealth Rock, and it cannot be poisoned/badly poisoned by Toxic Spikes. Granted, Veloswift is already immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes by virtue of being a Flying-type, but it's still very useful for Stealth Rock, and in the future other, non-Flying Pokémon will get Sidestep that will be able to enjoy its full effects. Additionally, there are at least two other entry hazard moves in my projects, and so Sidestep would still grant Veloswift immunity to those as well as the canon hazards.

The ability "Aerialist" is only effective in triple battles. It allows any of the bearer's single-target moves to hit any other Pokémon in play, even if the bearer is not adjacent to the target. For example, if my team is Charizard to my left, Venusaur in the middle and Blastoise to my right, and yours is Feraligatr to my left, Typhlosion in the middle and Meganium to my right, Charizard can only hit Feraligatr or Typhlosion with Flamethrower—Meganium is too far away. If Charizard could hypothetically have Aerialist, then it could successfully target the non-adjacent Meganium with Flamethrower. All single-target Flying-type moves (Air Slash, Peck, etc.) and some "pulse" moves (Aura Sphere, Water Pulse, etc.) already have this property, but Aerialist grants that effect to every single-target move the bearer uses regardless of its name or type.

have you thought about making a move that hits physical defence but calculates damage using the speed rather than attack? i think it could be a cool idea, as well as giving things like jolteon and accelgor some coverage against blissey, milotic etc and i think it would work really nicely with veloswift, poss signature move eg velocity power 90 flying type acc 100 pp 10, but obvi feel free to creatively use the speed does damage idea in whatever way you think of
